In business there are many ups and downs... some times there are a few ups before there are the downs and other times the downs just keep on coming- like the Pepsi max at Blackpool pleasure beach. The moment that sets these rollercoasters apart are the ones that will ultimately define your day with in your business.
5 years ago Arrow group 360 LTD was just an idea on paper... it had slowly been being built brick by brick over a course of 14 dedicated years. Back then it was known as Arrow building and driveways, being managed day in day out by 1 man with a big vision.
I remember the day Phil asked me for my thoughts on being a LTD company VS having sole trader status. The pros and Cons. The ifs and buts. The "what is best for our business's future?" decision.
We had a business idea. We had 14 years experience. We had the customer base, the rest we were ready to grow with as we go.
Looking back that decision was the easy decision. Yes of course we took our sole trader and levelled up to a limited company. One of the pros that really swayed the decision was the way our business was seen by potential customers and the pool of possible customers we wanted to target.
It sounds a little vein but to have those 3 small letters after your name can make a huge impact on your reputation. We wanted to grow the business and not only be a domestic builder contractor but also break ground in the commercial sector.
Next we needed a business name- The harder decision.
With having a vision of wanting to take the commercial sector by storm we needed a business name that all round represented us, our values, our goals and our future. Arrow building and driveways had served us well but it was time for a upgrade.
Maintaining familiarity for our established customers we wanted to move forward with an element of our history with us and so keeping "Arrow" made perfect sense.
Then in came the "group"- a collection of individuals who coordinate their efforts - our employees, but mostly we were forward thinking about the company's future and wanting to expand further with subsidiary companies.
Lastly 360! This should be pretty clear.. we aimed to have a pool of multi skilled tradesman and professionals who each bring their own value to our company meaning we can offer a 360 approach to our projects providing start to finish services for our customers.
THE HARDEST PART..... LOGO!
Do you ever know what you want something to be but have no idea how to get it from brain to paper... That was how this logo went for what felt like the longest month of my life. Living in the limbo of Phil's thoughts trying to be translated into something we knew represented our brand and to be identifiable at a glance. Colour schemes, shapes, sizes, fonts.
Phil is a HUGE darts fan, in case you was wondering about the Arrow element of the business, there you have it. So a dart flight logo shape made perfect sense. He is also very patriotic- in slides the GB flag and lastly the colour scheme was it all coming together.
Arrow Group 360 LTD was Born!
